Overview
GoalEnvision is a strategic planning web platform that helps individuals and teams set, track, and achieve their goals through data-driven progress visualization and intuitive interactions.
Our goal was to design a clear, engaging, and motivating digital experience that turns abstract ambitions into measurable results.
I collaborated closely with a UX designer who focused on research and information architecture, while my main contribution was creating the visual language, interface components, and conducting usability testing to ensure clarity and usability.
The Challenge
Most goal-setting tools on the market lacked visual clarity and often overwhelmed users with unnecessary complexity.
We wanted to create an interface that would feel structured yet lightweight, helping users stay focused and motivated over time.
Key challenges:
Translating complex UX flows into a simple, intuitive interface.
Designing consistent visual components that support user focus.
Validating design decisions through usability testing to ensure accessibility and engagement.
Design Process
Collaboration & UX Handoff
Together with the UX designer, we defined key user journeys and prioritized features that would deliver the most value.
Once the main flow and wireframes were approved, I took the lead on translating them into high-fidelity UI concepts, defining the visual hierarchy, color system, and interaction patterns.
Visual Design & System Creation
My main focus was creating a clean, scalable design system that balanced functionality and aesthetics:
Color Palette: Calm neutrals with vibrant accents to highlight key actions.
Typography: Clear and accessible, optimized for readability across devices.
Components: Built reusable UI elements (buttons, forms, modals, charts) in Figma to maintain consistency across all screens.
Data Visualization: Designed intuitive charts and progress trackers that make data meaningful and motivational.
Each screen was carefully structured to guide users through goal creation, tracking, and reflection — without overwhelming them.
Usability Testing
I planned and conducted several usability testing sessions with both individual users and teams.
We evaluated task completion, visual clarity, and overall engagement.
Key findings included:
Users wanted faster onboarding → I simplified input forms and improved default templates.
Some progress indicators were too abstract → I redesigned visual elements to show clear, measurable feedback.
UI contrast adjustments improved accessibility for users with visual sensitivity.
After each test round, I implemented refinements in typography, color balance, and layout to improve overall user experience.
Design Handoff & Developer Collaboration
I worked closely with developers to ensure that the UI matched design specifications and functioned seamlessly across devices.
We used Figma’s component-based structure to maintain consistency during implementation and ensured the product met WCAG accessibility standards.
Results & Impact
30% faster onboarding thanks to simplified input and clearer navigation.
53% increase in user engagement, driven by improved visual feedback and data visualization.
High satisfaction scores in post-launch surveys, with users praising the clean, motivating interface.
Improved accessibility through refined color contrast and responsive adjustments.
Reflection
Working alongside a UX designer allowed me to focus deeply on the visual and interaction layers — transforming wireframes into a refined digital experience that feels intuitive, human, and engaging.
Through testing and iteration, I strengthened my approach to design validation, ensuring every visual decision supported usability and clarity.
